In warp knitting production, the raw materials are wound and warped, and the yarns are arranged in parallel and wound into warp beams, which are then produced on the machine. The yarns are unwound from the warp beam, and each yarn is placed on one or at most two knitting needles of a warp knitting machine in the longitudinal direction to form a warp knitted fabric.

There is also a method of combining weft knitting and warp knitting on some knitting machines. At this time, two sets of yarns are arranged on the knitting machine, one set is covered by the warp knitting method, and the other set is covered by the weft knitting method. The loops formed by the same yarn are arranged in the weft direction in weft knitted knitted fabrics and in the warp direction in warp knitted knitted fabrics.

2. Wool weaving

The process of using natural wool fiber, wool-type chemical fiber or two types of fiber blended yarns as warp and weft yarns to interweave into various types of wool fabrics.

Wool fabrics can be divided into two categories: one is combed wool fabrics, which have the characteristics of clear lines, soft and elastic feel, and compact structure. They are generally used as complete sets of clothing for men and women. Serge, Gabardine, etc.

The other type is carded wool fabric. The surface of the finished product is covered with fluff, which has good thermal insulation performance, plump appearance and soft hand feeling. Carded wool fabrics can be used to make men's and women's clothing, blankets, decorations, cultural and sporting goods, and industrial supplies.

Common varieties are melton, flannel, coat and various blankets. The use of natural wool fibers to produce fabrics has a long history. Ancient corpse costumes found in Loulan, Xinjiang, China show that the Chinese used very fine wool fabrics as early as thousands of years ago.
